Coaches Corner for July 6
Morning, Barracuda Nation.
I hope that you enjoyed your Saturday morning away from the deck. This week brings a local rivalry and a few activities to get us ready to swim our best.
(1) Lake Ridge Meet
On Saturday, July 12, our rivals from down the street visit us. It promises to be a close meet with many friends from the neighborhood. Remember the timeline for the home meets:
RWB Swimmer Check In - 5:15-5:50am
RWB Warm Up - 6-6:25
Meet Starts - 7
Meet Ends - Noon (don't quote me)
At swimmer check-in, we will have the swimmers' events listed, but we will not have heats and lanes. I will post the meet sheet on the website by Friday afternoon, and it will be available on the app. Make sure swimmers are at the Clerk when events are called. Make sure they know their heats and lanes, too.
(2) Senior Splashes
We will recognize our seniors before their last individual event at Saturday's meet. Seniors, you must have our bio to me before the meet so we can plan ahead. Let's be loud and proud of our Barracudas before their last home meet.
(3) Spirit Week
This week, we will have a few events to get us ready to rock the Lancers.
Tuesday, July 8, we will host our 12 and under pool party. We will offer pizza. Make sure you get your wristband at practice that morning.
Thursday, July 10, we will tye-dye. Bring a white t-shirt and a large Ziploc bag. This event will take place after practice (except for 8 and unders who will do it before practice).
Friday, July 11, we will offer our Vendor Fair. Come see what our wonderful sponsors have to offer. That evening, we will have a pep rally and spaghetti dinner at 7pm at the pool. Remember, we cannot set up tents until 8:45pm.
More information on all the above is on our website
(4) Oakwood
We will offer Oakwood practice from 4-5pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. No practice at Oakwood on Tuesday because of the 12 and u party.
(5) Little Cuda Meet
On Friday, July 11, we will watch our Little Cuda Session B swimmers in their mini-meet from 9-10. Come watch what the youngest Barracudas have learned.
Lots going on. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks
Coach John
