Coaches Corner for July 13
Morning, Barracuda Nation.
(1) Lake Ridge Meet
It ended up being one of the closest meets in memory; we ended up with a 90 point win. Some more specifics on how evenly matched it was:
RWB had 520 splashes with 57% best times
LR had 528 splashes with 55% best times.
Amazing spirit and swims this weekend. It was a blast. Congrats to our seniors who celebrated their last splashes - Barracudas for life.
(2) Brookside Hurricanes
We travel to Brookside for our final dual meet on Saturday, July 19. I have never been there in my career, so please visit their website for details about parking and tents. The address is 7197 Riley Road in Warrenton. Their website is https://teambrookside.swimtopia.com/
I will send out a reminder email to the swimmers who have not yet declared. Remember, to be eligible for Divisionals, a swimmer must compete in at least two meets and have a legal time in the event. This is a league policy.
(3) Little Cudas
We welcome the last session of the Little Cudas to the pool from 8:30-9:30am for the last two weeks of the season. This is session C.
(4) 12 and under party
Last week, storms forced us to change the date. The 12 and u party will be Tuesday from 5-7pm at Ridgewood Pool. Come for some pizza and time with teammates. See the website (under Upcoming Events) for more information.
(5) Twilight Practice
On Tuesday evening, we will host our annual Twilight Practice from 9-10:30pm. This is for 13 and over swimmers ONLY. No siblings under that age. We will provide the food. Come for our practice under the stars. We will cancel the morning practice for the 13 and over group ONLY on Wednesday morning. All other Wednesday practices will take place at regular time.
(7) Oakwood
We will offer Oakwood practice this week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4-5pm. Please RSVP by emailing me.
Lastly, I was asked many times this weekend if I planned to retire after Divisionals. Nope. I'll be back.
Thanks
Coach John
