Coaches Corner for July 25
The final weekend is here, and we cannot wait to see your kids swim this weekend.
FRIDAY, JULY 25
Tonight, from 7-9pm, we will have our final pep rally and pasta dinner. Come by and carb load. Tents can go up at 7:45. Remember that the team area is a bit smaller, so we might ask you to move your tent if you are in another team's area.
SATURDAY, JULY 26
We host the Green Division Championships. Again, there are three teams, so the timeline is a bit different.
RWB Warm-Up - 5:30-6am
RWB Swimmer Check In (in the team area) 6-6:40
Meet Starts at 7:15
Meet Ends at 1pm (ish)
We need all swimmers to check in by 6:40. Swimmers who do not check in by 6:40 will be scratched from relays and individual events. In that hour between our warm up and the start of the meet, please keep all swimmers off deck. The other teams deserve their space and time to prepare. At the conclusion of the fly events, there will be a ten minute break where we organize relays. After the free relays, there will be a short break, and we will have a coaches' relay and a parents' relay.
SUNDAY, JULY 27
We will celebrate one final time. We will meet on the grounds of the pre-school for dinner and awards. We will start setting up at 4:30pm. We will have access to the pool one more time after the awards are distributed. I will email with more specifics tomorrow after the meet.
CHARITABLE DRIVE
I am thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity that we have during our divisional meet this weekend! This year, while we may be competing in the pool, the GREEN DIVISION will be joining forces on deck to host a clothing drive that will directly serve the youth in Prince William County, in partnership with Boxes of Basics. All donations will benefit local children in Prince William County.
Items Needed: v
New underwear (boy and girls size 3T - 14/16 youth)
v New socks (Toddler to size 8 adult) v New shoes (toddler to size 8 adult)
v Winter coats (size 2T - 14/16 youth)
v Gently used children’s clothing (newborn - 14/16 youth) v Children’s books (all ages, infant to teen)
v Winter gloves and hats (all sizes)
How does it work? Once a child is referred to Boxes of Basics, they receive a beautiful box that contains an entire seasonal wardrobe of quality new and gently used clothing. Each box contains school outfits, play clothes, pajamas, new socks, new underwear, shoes, a winter coat and an age-appropriate book. Every outfit is hand selected, wrapped and labeled. Please consider donating! Every little bit helps and, as you can see, will have a lasting impact on children in our community!!
All donations will be collected at the divisional meet on Saturday as well as during the Friday evening set up time.
Thanks.
John
